Does anyone give a crap what Ten comes up with? I certainly don't, unless it's a spin-off of BB. If it's worthy we'll change our site around here, or use the other BB domains we own, or get a new one for a fan site.

I still think, after I was first to float the idea on any site, that a summer BB should take place in late 2009.

Big Brother evicted by TV networks
November 04, 2008 12:00am

BIG Brother is finally dead. Neither Channel 9 nor Seven will pick up the series after Channel 10 gave it the axe early in the year.

There was speculation Nine would pick up the series and dramatically change the format, but sources said the network was no longer interested.

Channel 10 has confirmed it has a replacement program set for May next year.

"What we've devised is another franchise," head of programming David Mott said.

Big Brother first aired in Australia in 2001, but struggled for ratings in the past couple of years.

It's bound to be a reality show. They've got to fill 120 hours of TV and Ten has been enormously confident for weeks that their lineup will obliterate Seven after David Lecke let rip at them last month.

I'm sure even Gorgeous Gretel could be involved somehow. I'm pretty sure she wants a TV project for next year (more money for her charity work than just from being one of the top 10 children's authors in the land). But I still believe that BB will be back on day on another network.

I'm LOL'ing as hard as I can but I don't think I can do it anymore without a tear or two, really, Ten is a dying battery.

It'll be interesting to see this spin off of a show and how it targets the 16-39 demographic, whether or not it's a reality series based on BB itself remains to be seen.

Without BB, Ten have got nothing...

I have been informed that Ten will announce its 2009 lineup on Monday. We'll have an idea of what this "new format" is that they think they're developing that we've been laughing about here. We'll be able to laugh even more on Monday if it's lame.

I am not too interested in what 10 has too offer, I just dont want to see more obese people trying to loose weight or more young gen y's modeling, auditioning, performing, singing etc (exception of SYTYCD).

I guess all good things come to an end?

Ten has been on a real losing streak lately, if they keep it up, they'll probably go out of business for sure.

I doubt it. If Masterchef bombs, Ten will substitute it with reruns of Friends most likely. *Yawn*

Firstly, I dont think i will be watching much masterchef I just dont want to get into another dependant relationship with my television...

Secondly how many cooking shows can the average person stand - ready steady cook, the cook and the chef, daytime tv chefs al lah 9 & 7, food safari, jamie oliver, gordon ramsay not to mention all the cooking shows that appear over the non-rating season (the drunk french guy on the rivirera, nigella lawson, surfing the menu, sbs, etc) Celebrity chefs are passed their use by date imo.

I want to see the batchelors/students cooking show.  Recipees with 2 minute noodles, 101 pasta recipees for under $5.00, tomato sauce used as an ingrediant 'and' condiment and how to make microwave scrambled eggs in a jar (especially useful if you dont have any clean plates)....

Although there's good logic behind that idea, somehow I doubt the TV networks would find that exciting Smiley
