Can you think of some positive points about BB 8 so far? A lot of members lurk but don't post, so here's a chance to say something about this series and no one needs to bag you for it.

My positive points about this series so far is that there's no Potbelleez music and they get an American celeb (Carson) to live with for a while. Oh and Bianca is another positive, of course. I might think of others later. Now it's your turn.

I like it that the penalties are relaxed and BB is not harping on about fines all the time...

I just thought of another positive: the abolition of the 10 questions for the evictee. That was always rushed so the HM didn't criticise the show, because that would be just too humiliating and the public isn't supposed to know the negatives in BB, even though we see them regularly Smiley

I sat here and stared at this thread for a realy long time before i could think of anything positive...

I am glad we got to see Vesna even if it was on BMouth.
I did like the initial change to the voting system, it seems that the weeds were evicted first - Saxon / REbecca - rather than the usual outspoken types.

I'll raid the OS forum hopefully before it closes in a few weeks. I haven't had time to go there for a month but remember people listing some positives.

OK, we can add Pammy as a positive.

I mentioned Bianca as a positive but for the gals I suppose I should've said Rory as well (they'd love his long cock?).

Most of the cast just weren't up to scratch this year. Rory hasn't been very entertaining. That might be a personality thing and it proves that they need better HMs next year. If he was the only guy with a long cock that they could get this year (and he didn't even audition) then it shows that they need to move on from the long schlong obsession.

I think RR you've mentioned marching bands and all that a few years ago when BB did actually take notice of some of our ideas and those of others elsewhere. Well, this year you got your wish during the ignore the obvious task (it's not really the same but BB was using music and noises to wake the HMs instead of what you've talked about with marching bands doing that). So all that's a positive. Isn't it?

I'm glad you liked it. It's been the same as in our old forum (none of the crap, for the most part). The whole site stays open all year so we can catch up on things, do news updates a few times a month, and build the new features from this year (wiki etc) and look at other potential new features we need to get back to.

The only problem this year is that we mucked around a bit too much with the search engines to see where we would rank for key search phrases and we lost a lot of the expected traffic (we used to have thousands of people a day here in week 1 of each series and in the last week of each series). But, hey, in Europe we're number 3 in google for big brother australia and number 5 in yahoo here in Oz. So maybe soon we'll be back on top in google Oz and a few more people might check this forum out (no ad budget to speak of yet for publicity).

Once the OS forum closes, there'll be a few more people around and our forum is always popular for auditions discussions at the end of the year and the beginning of the next year. Luckily, the forum isn't the only thing this site has for people to see and do (I think the new gallery launched a few months back is the most popular part of the site so far). But it would've been nice to have had more people here in this forum. But this was a crap series and there wasn't much to talk about (unless you're a critic at a slam site - they've always got something to say).

So I invite everyone to check in and post in the BB09 board during the off-season and use the old topics from this series if anyone wants to chat about some of that.

Yeah I think I was talking about a few little ideas like that a couple of years ago here somewhere. I had seen it in other countries where the housemates wouldn't get up and in one country BB sent in a marching band and they still wouldn't get up. So he then rolled in a top fuel car and fired that sucker up. I pissed myself laughing because it was frigging loud and the mongrels still couldn't really be bothered getting up, but got the message and did anyway. I want to see something like that happen here, but only pranks to wake them up, not as part of a task. Still, it was good they did a bit of that this year in the task you metioned.

I was waffling on in another thread just then and I remembered something from what I was talking about that I'd thought I'd mention here.

I think it's good that the hosts have actually talked about some of the "scandals" this year (from Rima's nude pix to the Eric thing and what's his face placing a bet to try to cash in just before he leaves his job). So that's probably a positive for BB08. You never would've seen Gretel or Mike actually acknowledge any of this stuff - just a smug look sometimes and on they go with the show.
